Abstract
The article discusses the conceptual and practical issues of the use of shift work in the development of the Arctic, the latent problems that have emerged, characteristic trends and the possibility of their solution in the implementation of large-scale projects for the gas field development. The study presents the results of the analysis of the main socio-psychological characteristics of the labor collectives of the gas fields of a large gas producing enterprise; the basic needs of shift personnel are studied; the key motivational determinants of gas field workers are identified depending on their age, and an assessment of their motivational environment is given. The socio-psychological conditions stimulating personnel for effective work in the context of generational differences were studied on the basis of the X, Y, Z theory (theory of N. Howe, W. Strauss). Based on a comparative analysis of the motivational preferences of employees of different generations, measures are proposed to increase the motivational potential and improve the socio-psychological aspects of shift personnel management.
