Abstract

Among all the priority areas for the development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its comprehensive socio-economic development takes the first place. It is important to take into account not only economic indices, such as Gross Regional Product, average per capita income, the tension in the labor market, etc., but also indicators that reflect the socio-psychological well-being of the population. At the same time, we believe that it is crucial to take into account the current state of the socio-economic development of the region, city, a settlement based on statistical information, analysis of the development of the territory, as well as assessments by the population of their level and quality of life and their socio-psychological mood. In the article, we consider the socio-psychological well-being of the population in two aspects. Firstly, socio-psychological well-being reflects the objective parameters of the quality of life associated with the state of the socio-economic system of society, the level of infrastructure development, social security, and the scope of political rights. Secondly, socio-psychological well-being reflects an assessment of subjective well-being, including overall life satisfaction and social optimism. The article uses qualitative and quantitative methods of sociological research, which has been conducted by us in 2021 on the territory of Eastern Kazakhstan. The analysis of scientific literature, domestic and foreign practices of studying the socio-economic development of territories allowed us to develop and test tools for assessing the socio-psychological well-being of the population of Eastern Kazakhstan. It was also possible to identify factors that have a significant impact on determining the population's level and quality of life, which can serve as a basis for establishing priorities in planning the socio-economic development of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
