Abstract

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 231 of 25 April 2022, the period between 2022 and 2031 has been designated as the "Decade of Science and Technology" in Russia. The primary objectives of this initiative are to attract talented young people to the field of research and development, to encourage researchers and developers to engage with the most pressing societal and national challenges. In terms of its share in the global number of scientific works (number of scientific publications, patents, dissertation defenses, etc.), Russia is significantly behind the world leaders, such as China and the USA. This has a detrimental effect on the socioeconomic development of the state as a whole. Consequently, a new approach to involving talented students in science, from the earliest stages of their academic careers, is extremely important to our country. The article examines the reasons for the low level of engagement of Russian university students in research activities. In the course of the study, the authors identified the main obstacles that prevent students from engaging in active and interesting research work in higher education. The results of the study identify the activities that contribute to increasing student engagement in research activities. The proposed activities have been formulated based on the opinions of engineering and humanities students who participated in the sociological survey, as well as on the basis of the best practices of involving students in research work in leading Chinese universities and reference universities in Russia.

Abstract

The quality of urban space, the uniformity of distribution and the accessibility of engineering and social infrastructure facilities in modern Russian cities are all deformed. The high level of wear and tear and emergency conditions in the housing stock have a negative impact on the quality of life of the population. Furthermore, the limited resources of municipal authorities don't allow them to promptly solve these problems. In recent years, attempts have been made at the federal level to change the situation by attracting various resources. The experience of the renovation program in Moscow led to the consideration of its transfer to Russian regions. This became possible after the adoption of the articles of the Urban Development Code of the Russian Federation, which defines the conditions and types of integrated development of urban space and the mechanism of its implementation. The success of this activity hinges on the interests and participation of residents. A significant role is allocated to the dissemination of information by local government to residents on the implementation of integrated territorial development that should mitigate the risks of social conflict. Nevertheless, the practice of implementing integrated territorial development projects demonstrates that conflict situations among municipal authorities, developers and residents are not uncommon. The purpose of this study is to analyze the managerial aspects of the implementation of integrated territorial development in the system of spatial development of Tyumen. This study aims to provide a systematic analysis of the key aspects of integrated territorial development as an instrument of urban space management. In particular, this analysis assesses the quality of the urban environment, informs and involves residents in its formation, and develops their responsibility for the transformation processes taking place in Tyumen. The article presents an analysis of the essential content of integrated territorial development, a secondary analysis of the results of urban environment quality assessment, a content analysis of information support for the implementation of integrated territorial development in Tyumen, and a SWOT analysis of factors for the implementation of integrated territorial development. The findings of the study permit the assessment of the strategic parameters of the implementation of integrated urban development projects. The study also permits the identification of the weaknesses of this mechanism and the threats to its implementation. These findings should be taken into account in order to reduce social risks and prevent conflicts between the subjects of urban space development management. Active information work with the population, focused on the formation of feedback channels, will contribute to the enhancement of social trust in this mechanism and the involvement of the population in the processes of territory management.

Abstract

The topic of sanctions and sanctions policy against Russia acquired significant relevance after the Crimea joined Russia in 2014, and its peak occurred in 2022, the events associated with the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine. In response to the actions of our country, sanctions were imposed against the Russian Federation by a coalition of Western countries led by the United States. In 2014, the sanctions were not perceived as deeply by our society and the country's leadership due to their scale and lack of confidence on the part of Russians that they would cause damage and continue for a long time. After 2022, all spheres of life in our society were affected by the unprecedented sanctions. In the political sphere, high-level contacts were effectively barred. In the financial and economic spheres, the use of bank cards was prohibited, deliveries were curtailed, and companies withdrew from the Russian market. Even in the cultural sphere, Russia was effectively "cancelled" in terms of cultural engagement. It is beyond doubt that these factors have had a significant impact on the development of our country. The main purpose of the article is to examine the perceptions of Russians, particularly young people, regarding the impact of sanctions on the socio-economic and socio-cultural development of Russia. This analysis is based on data from all-Russian studies and materials from the author's sociological research conducted in 2024. The analysis has shown that the "abolition" of Russian culture causes concern among Russians, including young people, but is not critical in nature; the imposition of sanctions has significantly affected the conditions of doing Russian business in different areas; Russians assess the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy in different ways, highlighting both positive and negative aspects; further tightening of sanctions measures may lead to a significant impact on the Russian economy, cause price increases and problems in international trade, but Russia is able to withstand new sanctions challenges with a significant margin of safety. The results obtained allow us to draw up an overall picture of the main trends in the development of the economy and socio-cultural sphere of Russia in the context of sanctions. They also determine the basic positions of various social groups within the framework of their attitude to anti-Russian sanctions and anti-sanctions.

Abstract

The scientific schools of sociology and management have been observed to exhibit a certain ambiguity and duality of attitude with regard to informal relations within the labour collective. The issue of encouraging or eliminating informal relations becomes more pertinent in large, vertically integrated companies and branchtype companies with territorial dispersion. The objective of this study is to examine the informal nature of relationships between employees within an oil and gas company that has a head office, branches, and shift workplaces in remote areas. A sociological survey was conducted in 2023-2024 in the form of questionnaires to identify the specifics of the attitude of office and non-office workers to the formalization and deformalization of labour relations. The study has demonstrated that there is no consensus among employees within the organization, including the head office labour collective, those working on a rotational basis, and top management, on the issues of deformalization. The administration of structural units (including those in remote areas) can be more effectively utilized by the application of skillful stimulation and the utilization of informal relations on the part of management. This will result in a reduction of emotional tension and the achievement of a synergy effect in the process of labour activity.

Abstract

This study is dedicated to the values of young people living in Tyumen region. The purpose of the study is to examine the value of the studying and working youth in Tyumen region. The authors have considered the evolution of the concept of "values", revealed its essence and typology of values. In order to analyze the value of student and working youth, a questionnaire survey was conducted with 235 respondents aged 17 to 35 years old. The study of values was conducted in accordance with the methodology proposed by M. Rokic, which is based on a direct ranking of the list of values, namely terminal and instrumental. The survey and data processing were accomplished through the Survio online platform. The results of the study of terminal values indicated that young people place a high value on health and activity, with happiness and friendship occupying a relatively lower position in their priorities. The analysis of instrumental values revealed that a number of universal qualities, including honesty, courage in defending one's opinion, tolerance and sensitivity, were perceived as less important by students and working youth than other factors. Education was placed only in the fifth and seventh positions, respectively. In this context, it was proposed that the potential of humanities subjects in higher education be exploited, with the objective of not only enhancing the educational level of students but also influencing the system of values.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of digital identity. Based on the analysis, the main approaches to the study of this phenomenon have been summarized, which can be classified according to the degree of comparison of digital identity with subjectivity. The first approach is based on the recognition of digital identity as a necessary equal (in relation to the real) addition to the integral image of the human "I". The second approach is associated with the understanding of digital identity as an auxiliary tool for the "expansion" of the person, acting as a copy, striving for "vitality" (humanization of the object). The third approach implies that digital identity is an object that determines social behavior (human objectification). The forms of digital identity manifestation are identified as agent and actor (actant). The potential risks associated with the presence of digital identity in the digital environment are outlined, with particular emphasis on social, psychological and physiological risks. It is proposed that the true content of identity be identified as its "core", which consists of value orientations and a substantive basis.
